# Graph and Chat

> The Graph is the process. Chat is the conversation.

The **Graph** is where you design when work starts and what the Agent may do.

**Chat** is the conversation on that Instance (Live in the app, or a connected messenger). A Message Trigger can start a Run from Chat. The person talking does not need to open the Graph.
