# Telegram account

> Send, search, and read from the Telegram account signed in on Triggers.

This tool uses the Telegram account on [Triggers](/instance/triggers#telegram-account). It does not use the Instance bot.

On an Agent it is one tool. Turn actions on or off. The model fills **peer** (a username, numeric id, or `t.me` link) and the other fields. A private send starts listening for a reply from that person.

On the canvas the node runs one action. Set the action and its fields on the node.

| **Send a text message** | Sends text. A private send listens for a reply. |
| **Send a photo, file, or voice note** | Sends a photo, file, voice note, video, or album from a file already stored on this Instance. An album is 2 to 10 photos or videos. A private send listens for a reply. |
| **Forward messages to another chat** | Forwards messages from one chat into another. A private forward listens for a reply. |
| **Edit your own message** | Replaces the text of your own message, or the caption of your own photo or file. |
| **Add or remove a reaction** | Sets one emoji on a message, or removes your reaction. |
| **Press a button under a message** | Presses an inline button. **button** is the number in `buttons=` on a history or search line. Link buttons are not pressed. |
| **Pin or unpin a message** | Pins one message, or unpins that message. The chat is not notified. |
| **Open a profile** | Shows the card of one person or chat: name, username, about, and member count when Telegram returns them. A phone is included only for that person, and only when Telegram returns it. |
| **List stories** | Lists active stories for a person or chat, or for this account when peer is empty. limit is how many to return. Archive is a separate page of that size. If that page ends with cursor, call it again with that cursor. Viewing a story here does not mark it as seen. Off until you turn it on. |
| **Change name, bio, or photo** | Changes this account's first name, last name, bio, or profile photo. An empty field stays as it is. Removing the last name, bio, or current photo is a separate switch. Off until you turn it on. |
| **Post a story** | Posts one photo or video already stored on this Instance. It is visible to contacts unless you choose everyone or close friends. It lasts 24 hours and is not a chat message. Off until you turn it on. |
| **Delete a story** | Deletes stories on this account. Story ids come from a stories line. Off until you turn it on. |
| **List chat members** | Lists one page of members. A private chat returns that person. If the result ends with cursor, call it again with that cursor. A hidden member list returns an error. |
| **List forum topics** | Lists one page of forum topics. If the result ends with cursor, call it again with that cursor and the same peer and query. A chat without topics returns an error. |
| **Mark a chat as read** | Marks the chat read through a message id, or through the latest message when message id is empty. Mention badges are cleared. |
| **Mute a chat or archive it** | Mutes or unmutes a chat, and archives or unarchives it. Leave a field unchanged to skip that part. This does not stop runs and does not change which chats start a run. Off until you turn it on. |
| **Create or revoke an invite link** | Creates an invite link for a group or channel, or revokes one link when a link is set. Other links stay valid. People who already joined stay. Off until you turn it on. |
| **Ask a bot for results** | Asks a bot for results and does not send them. Copy **query id** and **result id** from the result. |
| **Send a bot result into a chat** | Sends one of those results into a chat. A private send listens for a reply. Search again if Telegram says the result expired. |
| **Send a poll** | Sends an anonymous poll with 2 to 10 answers. Set a correct answer to send a public quiz instead. A quiz cannot allow several answers. A private poll listens for a reply. |
| **Vote in a poll** | Votes in a poll, using the number from `options=` on a history or search line. A multiple-choice poll needs every selected number at once. |
| **Create a group or channel** | Creates a group or a channel. It does not start a Run on new posts. Off until you turn it on. |
| **Delete messages** | Deletes messages in one chat. **Delete for everyone** removes them for the other people too. In a channel or supergroup they are always deleted for everyone. Off until you turn it on. |
| **Block or unblock a person** | Blocks or unblocks a person. A chat cannot be blocked. History stays. Whether that chat starts a run stays as it is. Off until you turn it on. |
| **Leave a group or channel** | Leaves a group or channel. A private chat cannot be left. The start-a-run rule for that chat is removed. Off until you turn it on. |
| **Remove a person from a chat** | Removes a person from a group or channel. They can join again. Off until you turn it on. |
| **Ban or unban a person** | Bans a person in a supergroup or channel, or lifts that ban. A basic group cannot ban. Off until you turn it on. |
| **Limit what a person can send** | Stops a person sending messages or media in a supergroup or channel, or allows sending again. A banned person has to be unbanned first. Off until you turn it on. |
| **Change admin rights** | Gives or removes admin rights. A basic group can only make someone an admin or a member. The chat owner cannot be changed. Off until you turn it on. |
| **Find a person or a public chat** | Searches public people and chats. |
| **Join a chat or an invite link** | Joins a public chat or an invite link. Joining does not start a Run on new posts. |
| **Read messages in a chat** | Reads up to 50 messages. Each line includes messageId. Polls are listed as `options=0:Yes`. Inline buttons are listed as `buttons=0:Yes`. If the result ends with olderThan, call it again with that value to read older messages. Files are noted, not downloaded. |
| **List your chats** | Lists one page of your chats. If the result ends with cursor, call it again with that value. Archived chats are a separate page. |
| **Search text in messages** | Finds text in one chat, or in every chat when peer is empty. A poll line includes `options=`. A result from every chat includes peer. If the result ends with cursor, call it again with that cursor and the same peer. |
| **Download a file from a message** | Saves one message file on this Instance. messageId is the one from a history line for the same peer. |
| **Start a run when this chat writes** | Starts a Run on future messages from this person or chat. |
| **Stop runs for this chat** | Stops starting Runs for this person or chat. Cannot ignore an owner. |
| **Show which chats start a run** | Lists the default rules and per-person overrides. |

On the next node, **Previous nodes** lists the Tool name and **Result**. The Result is a short status, not the message body.
